✅ 1: Blueprint
✅ 2: Prototype

Next Steps:
⚪️ 3: Building the thing

0: Concept

In our search for desiging a modern arcade cabinet, we found these already amazing designs by RetroSpace. So we created quick high fidelity mockups based on these already amazing clean looking cabinets.

1: Blueprint

After trying to contact RetroSpace for prices and shipping information with no avail. I asked the talented architect John Neilon to help reverse engineer the cabinet from the available images.

We also designed a basic diagram to help us visualize how every component would be connected.

2: Prototype

After feeling pretty confident with the diagram and blueprint of the model designed, we decided to go head first into building a prototype.

The “Cardboard Arcade” prototype!

Surprisingly seamless outcome.

Although the prototype was an overall success. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to consistently get the player 1 & 2 to connect properly. We believe it might have to do with the fact that both individual controllers were being read by the computer as the same input, even though they were 2 separately connected USBs.

4: Build the thing (aka: it’s your turn!)

We’ve attached the diagrams below for you to make your very own SuperCade. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with and don’t hesitate to reach out to us with updates.
